Centre for Learning and Teaching
The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) supports the professional development of university academic staff. We work with individuals and groups of staff, with schools and faculties, and by contributing to institutional and national policies.
Our aim is to promote the importance of teaching as a professional activity and to enhance the quality of learning and teaching. We do this through a range of activities, including:
- courses for new and experienced lecturers
- conferences and staff seminars
- projects and consultancy work for individuals and departments
- research into learning and teaching in HE
- developing resources to support learning and teaching
- assisting staff access support and funding from external bodies such as the Higher Education Academy
- advising on teaching strategies to support students with disabilities
