Strategic Planning Office
The Strategic Planning Office (SPO) leads preparation and development of the university's corporate plans and other strategies, particularly in respect of student numbers and the size and shape of the academic profile.
The office is responsible for:
Planning, performance and data
- co-ordinating the production of the university’s corporate plan; developing the overall planning framework and supporting faculty, school and central department strategic plans and a range of thematic strategies;
- analysing and presenting data of relevance to the university on aspects of the university's performance and context to assist decision making;
- producing authoritative student number plans for the university, showing the number of students that each school aims to enrol each year, based on academic planning about subjects and levels, and supply and demand;
- preparing strategic responses on behalf of the university which aim to address national and local initiatives, including bids for external funding and responses to consultations;
- monitoring delivery of those strategies and reporting on their progress within an overall framework for considering institutional performance;
- contributing to the development of university policies across a range of issues including resource allocation, widening participation, work with partner colleges and community engagement.
