Housing advice officer

Our housing advice officer can provide information and answer questions relating to living in private rented accommodation.

If you have an issue or a specific question regarding the rented house that you live in you might want to contact them. The variety of housing-related areas they provide advice on includes:

  • disrepair and maintenance issues
  • tenants wishing to leave early from their tenancy agreement
  • rent deposit disputes
  • advice requested relating to the withholding of rent
  • compensation issues
  • allegations of harassment by housemates
  • tenancies Issues relating to joint and several liability
  • issues relating to licence agreements
  • issues relating to liability when disagreements occurs relating to shared utility bills
  • requests to check tenancy agreements.

Housing advice drop-in service

There is also a housing advice drop-in service which you can sit down face-to-face with the housing advice officer.

Brighton

Every Wednesday (term-time only)

Eastbourne

First Thursday of every month (term-time only)
