When you move out of your unihome, to avoid haing to pay any extra charges you will need to have:
- fulfilled the obligations of your tenancy
- not damaged anything in the property (Common accidental damage includes blu-tac pulling paint off the wall and iron burns on carpets, so be careful or you may be charged.)
- thoroughly cleaned the entire house (Communal areas are the responsibility of the whole group and you are responsible for your own room.)
- not left any belongings without prior agreement
- responsibly disposed of any rubbish (This means putting it in wheelie bins, if provided, taking any large items to the tip, or arranging a special collection through the local authority.)
- returned as many sets of keys as you were provided with
- provided final meter readings for gas, electricity and water (if you have a water meter)
- closed your accounts with utility companies
- provided us with a forwarding address.
Where damage is caused anonymously the university is entitled to charge each student for a proportion of the costs.
