Costs
The cost of renting a room in a unihome depends on the size of the room and the location of the property. Average rents start at £4,002 a year (approximately £87 per week).
Damage deposit
You do not pay any deposit to the university, but you will have to pay for any damage you cause to the property that does not constitute fair wear and tear. See Moving out

Payments
You must pay the university directly for your accommodation. You pay 28 days rent in advance at the beginning of your stay and you then pay three monthly instalments, or four for longer tenancies. Please ensure you pay your rent promptly.
Where applicable a holding fee of £100 is required, but the amount you pay will be deducted from your first rent payment.
Problems paying
It is important to pay promptly. The university is entitled to charge interest at seven per cent annually where payment is late, and we can terminate your accommodation contract if payment is overdue by 28 days or more.
If you think you may have a problem paying your rent please arrange to see someone in the income office as soon as possible.
