Komedia

Brighton’s premier live entertainment venue presents one of the largest, most diverse arts and entertainment programmes in the UK. Every year Komedia puts on around 700 performances of comedy, music, cabaret and kids shows, and most nights of the week there are at least two shows to choose from including the Krater Comedy Club. Komedia is also home to several of Brighton’s most popular club nights.

Their programme features the very best of international and national performers and includes a unique range of Komedia-grown resident shows such as the Krater Comedy Club, Voodoo Vaudeville, Comic Boom and Bent Double.

Festival 2012 Priority booking opportunity for alumni

Set in the heart of the Sussex countryside, Glyndebourne is no ordinary opera. Founded in 1934 by John Christie and his opera singer wife, Audrey Mildmay, Glyndebourne is committed to presenting opera of the highest quality, commissioning new work, developing new talent and reaching new audiences.

The 2012 Festival, between 20 May and 26 August is no exception.  With three new productions including Le nozze di Figaro and returning firm favourites; The Fairy Queen and La Cenerentola this is a festival not to be missed and, as a special benefit to you, tickets will be available for purchase ahead of the general public. The Royal Pavilion, Brighton is offering University of Brighton Alumni Association members half price adult admission until 31 March 2012.

Members will pay only £4.90 instead of £9.80. Please present your BGA alumni card at the front desk of the Royal Pavilion.

The Royal Pavilion is one of the most exotically beautiful buildings in Britain. Built as King George IV’s pleasure palace when Brighton was the heart of fashionable Regency society, the Royal Pavilion was also used by King William IV and Queen Victoria.  Today it has been restored to its original 1823 splendour with Indian architecture contrasted with interiors inspired by China.

How We Lived Then

'How We Lived Then' museum

The 'How We Lived Then' museum of shops and social history based in Eastbourne is offering University of Brighton graduates a reduction of £1.50 each (entry will be £3 per person) on entrance costs. Graduates will need to produce their BGA membership cards.

The museum has over 100,000 exhibits displayed on four floors of authentic shops, room-settings and with various displays covering 100 years of shopping and social history.
