Santander University of Brighton Enterprise Awards
A fund of £10,000 per annum, made possible by Santander Universities, will be available to provide awards to motivate students and recent alumni to generate enterprising ideas for new products, services and community projects. The authors of the 10 best ideas generated will be given an award of £250 plus tailored support to enable them to develop in-depth proposals.
A further competitive process will then take place resulting in the top three ideas being identified. These 3 submissions will each receive an award of £2,500 along with a full package of enterprise/business-related support to assist the winners in turning their ideas into reality through a private or social venture.

Santander University of Brighton Research Scholarships
Two awards of £5,000 each per annum, made possible by Santander Universities, will be available to full-time research students registered, or about to register (i.e. holding a confirmed place), for doctoral programmes at the University of Brighton. The awards will be awarded to two eligible students whose research project proposals are deemed to be strong and well-aligned to the university's research strategy.
In order to be eligible for one of these scholarships, applicants must hold a firm offer of admission to a three year postgraduate research programme in any subject at the University of Brighton by the closing date for the scholarships and in addition, be EITHER a national from, and be residing in, one the Santander Universities network countries OR be a home student whose research proposal focuses on one of the countries in the Santander Universities network.

Santander University of Brighton Masters Scholarships
Up to eight scholarships of £5,000 each, funded by Santander Universities, will be available each academic year as fee waivers for new taught postgraduate study at the University of Brighton for eligible students starting their programmes in autumn 2012, autumn 2013 and autumn 2014. The taught postgraduate scholarships are for one year only and cannot be deferred to a later year.
These scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and preference will be given to students who have completed their first degree at one of the universities in the Santander network.

Santander University of Brighton Student Awards for Community Engagement and Volunteering
Seven awards worth £1,000 each, funded by Santander Universities, will be available to recognise outstanding contributions in the fields of community engagement and volunteering by current University of Brighton students.
Reasons for nomination could include active involvement in community life, volunteering within or outside the university, acts of kindness or good neighbourliness. Students’ Union activity qualifies under this scheme. A requirement for these awards is that the prize be split evenly between the student and the community body hosting the activity.
Nominations are sought from local residents or the organisations students are involved in. Individuals, groups of students or student households are eligible for nomination.

Santander University of Brighton Travel Grants for students and staff
A fund worth £8,000 per annum, made possible by Santander Universities, will be available to provide travel grants for students and staff at the University of Brighton. The grants will be given to facilitate visits by current University of Brighton staff and students to universities and other organisations in the Santander Universities Network.
The objective is to forge contacts with other universities, educational establishments and organisations in the above mentioned countries for the purpose of exchange of knowledge and to participate in projects of benefit to the University of Brighton candidate and other organisation.
The grants are intended to be used during the summer vacation or alternatively during the following academic year. Grants will be made up to a maximum total of £8,000 per year at the discretion of the selection panel with a minimum of four grants being issued and individual grants issued to be maximum of £2,000.
