Ways of giving

How you can make a donation

Thank you for your interest in supporting the University of Brighton. There are many ways you can make a donation, and we welcome gifts of all sizes. Every gift we receive helps us to make a difference. Every pound of your donation goes directly to support the university, any administration costs are borne centrally and do not come out of the donations we receive.

The University of Brighton is an exempt charity (Inland Revenue number XR7098) and all donations we receive qualify for Gift Aid, meaning your donation is worth 25 per cent more to the university.

Make a donation now!
You can make a credit/debit card donation through our secure JustGiving website at any time.

Regular gifts
A regular gift allows us to plan our activities more effectively, and is an easy and convenient way for you to give. You can make a monthly, quarterly or annual gift by Direct Debit (processed on either the 1st or 15th of the month). Please download our donation form (pdf) and return it to the Development and Alumni Office. Please remember to fill in the Gift Aid declaration as this will add a further 25 per cent to your donation.

Single gifts
You can make a gift via cheque, credit card, CAF or charity voucher, or postal order at any time. Please download our donation form here and return it to the Development and Alumni Office. Please make cheques payable to the University of Brighton. Please remember to fill in the Gift Aid declaration as this will add a further 25 per cent to your donation.

Legacy gifts
Your will is your gift to the people and causes that are important to you. It is also the only way to ensure peace of mind that your money, assets and belongings are distributed in the way that you want. Please click here to find out more about leaving a gift in your will, or to arrange for one of our development team to contact you, in confidence, to discuss your wishes.

Gifts from overseas
The University of Brighton can accept gifts in any currency. Please note that we do not currently have a 501(c)3 registered charity in the United States. Please contact us to discuss your donation.

The University of Brighton Ambassadors
These ambassadors comprise our new leadership giving circle which acts as an informal advisory group for the Vice-Chancellor and the senior management of the university. To become a member of this group, a donation worth £1,000 per annum is requested.

Other ways to give
The university also accepts other forms of giving from gifts of shares, or works of art to equipment and even time. Where possible we will realise the capital of the gift and invest the income alongside our cash gifts. If you would like to discuss other ways to donate to the University of Brighton please contact us.
