University of Brighton graduate Isabel Rock has scooped a £10,000 national fellowship for printmaking.

Only six people receive the annual awards from The Arts Foundation, the Brighton-based charity which supports and promotes artists.

Isabel graduated from the University of Brighton in Fine Art Printmaking in 2005 and received a Master of Arts in Fine Art Printmaking from the Royal College of Arts in 2008. She was presented with her award by sculptor Sir Antony Gormley OBE.

Isabel said: “I'm totally thrilled to win this award. It means recognition of my work so far and it gives me the opportunity to do a big research project which will include some travelling, gathering of new ideas, studying new skills and hopefully coming up with some exciting, awesome new drawings.”

Now based near Reading, Isabel said she divides her work between high-end fine art drawings and self-published works which she makes accessible to wider audiences. Isabel is represented by Art 18/21
