Class of 1970s

Julian Wilczek BSC Applied Chemistry 1972
I graduated with a BSc in Applied Chemistry in 1972 and then I decided to stay on for a PhD which thanks to a brilliant tutor (Dr Ken Rutt) I finally completed in 1978 while working full time. I started work at age 26 and by the time I was 56 decided that enough was enough and I retired to France in 2005. Happy ever after.

William Kerr HND Hotel and Catering Management 1974
I had a successful career with First Hotels in UK and France followed by a period as a University Domestic Bursar at University of Sussex. Following that I worked at Royal Southampton Yacht Club as their CEO.  I spent 20 years in sales in a variety of enviroments: publishing, cars, property, with a great deal of success. In the last two and a half years I have been employed by Eastbourne District General Hospital and have recently  been promoted to Ward Co-ordinator within the acute Coronary Care Unit. I love my work as a health care worker and feel it is a fitting last employment in my working lfe having reached 57 years of age. It is a great opportunity to give back something to the community.
