PASS Leader Resources
After completing a successful, fun-filled, action-packed PASS leader training programme we make all leader resources available online - see the icons in the right-hand column.
These are available to equip you in your role; here is a quick reminder about some of the different components of the toolkit and how you can make the most of them:
New! Advice on conducting sessions: Have a look at some of the advice from the International Centre for PASS/ PAL/ SI on conducting sessions. From introducing, opening and closing, to setting the agenda and strategies for facilitation - there is a lot of useful guidance in this document.
Session Planning & Evaluation Sheet: Use the sesion planning sheet before every session, working with you partner to plan out what you will be doing, when, how and facilitated by whom. PASS sessions tend to go better when the leaders arrive preapred and focussed and this is just what you need to help you get in the zone! When your PASS session is over, take 5 minutes to discuss with your partner how it went and use the evaluation sheet to jot down your thoughts to discuss with your PASS Supervisor or PASS Ambassador at your next debrief.
Register: It is vital for the evaluation of the PASS scheme that we collect attendance data from PASS sessions. This data will be kept completely confidential but is extremely helpful for measuring the impact of attendance at PASS on students' grades. Please complete one of these registers at every session and return to your supervisor.
PASS Ambassador/ Supervisor Observation Form: Your supervisor or ambassador will be popping in to yoru PASS sessions throughout the year to offer advice and suugestions for ways to develop your sessions as well as offer you support. This is the form they will use to observe, it serves as a helpful reminder of the things you need to be doing in your sessions!
Icebreaker Pack: PASS leaders at the PASS National Centre, the University of Manchester produced this pack of icebreakers. Don't forget to make sure that every session has a relaxed, informal and fun environment and a few cheesy icebreakers always help to get to know each other and lighten the mood!
If you have developed a fun icebreaker, a useful resource, a new strategy card or a great session plan that worked well in your PASS session then why not let us know about it? Email it in to pass.brighton@gmail.com and we can make it available to the other PASS leaders. Prizes available!
In time, we would like to have this webpage full of resources and session plans designed by PASS leaders to make planning your sessions even easier.
