Reading and research

A substantial part of your academic studies will consist of a great deal of background reading around your subjects, and identifying key texts by specialists in your chosen field.

This section will introduce you to some of the important considerations you will need to be aware of when conducting your research, such as:

• making effective notes
• accurately referencing your sources
• avoiding plagiarism
• accessing library services
• thinking critically when reading
