Library and research skills

Workshops

The library and research skills workshops cover Online Journals, EndNote referencing software, and other topics which run throughout the year at all sites, and especially around assignment/exam times. All the workshops are advertised on the Student Calendar.

Information Advisers

Each of the libraries across the 5 campuses have Information Advisers who support the library and information needs of students, staff and researchers at the University.

They can help you use the University’s information resources effectively as well as offering advice on resources for specific subject areas. They work with each Faculty to develop the book, journal and electronic resources collection and they also offer library and information (retrieval) skills sessions and workshops, designed to support and enhance your learning, teaching and research skills.

Online Resources

The Information Services website has an area on Information Literacy which has a range of online resources to help you find relevant and quality information for your essays and assignments including information on:

  • Planning your search
  • Finding and accessing information
  • Comparing and evaluating information
  • Referencing, plagiarism and Turnitin
