Do I have to wear a gown?
A gown is not mandatory, however, the vast majority
of recipients do wear one and you are encouraged to
wear academic dress.
What should I wear under the gown?
A shirt or blouse is ideal as there is a loop on the hood
that is designed to be fastened around a button.
Do children need a separate guest ticket?
Older children need to have a
guest ticket. The ceremony can be relatively long and unsuitable
for young children.
Are there disabled parking facilities at the
Brighton Dome?
Unfortunately, there are no disabled parking facilities,
however, there is a drop off point at the front of
the Dome.
I haven’t received my guest tickets, when do
I get them?
Guest tickets are collected on the day of the
ceremony from the registration desk at the Brighton
Dome. Please do not telephone enquiring after
guest tickets that you have ordered as they can
only be collected on the day of the ceremony.
Can I change my mind if I have already replied?
Once you have replied you will be unable to amend
your status online. However you can go back to the
website (www.brighton.ac.uk/ceremony) and click
the changed your mind link, which will email the
ceremonies team with your new details.
When should I arrive?
For the morning ceremony, you can arrive any time
between 8.15am and 9.30am; your guests can arrive
later, but they must be seated by 9.55am.
For the
afternoon ceremony, you can arrive any time between
1.15pm and 2.30pm; your guests can arrive later but
they must be seated by 2.55pm.
Will my guests be able to sit together?
Yes. Guests are not allocated numbered seats.
