Business development support

Supporting innovation and enterprise

As a business school we are committed to helping businesses of all kinds grow and develop.  By sharing our resources and expertise with established businesses, not-for-profit organisations and start-ups in the region we aim to support and contribute to building an innovative and resilient economy.

Profitnet

Profitnet is a 12-month business development and support programme that enables small and medium-sized enterprises to learn from each other. It allows access to the expertise of the university and provides input from practitioners in every business field.

Business owners, directors and senior managers work together in a confidential environment to find solutions to real business problems and help each other to identify new opportunities.

Developed by CENTRIM, the programme has been successful for over 1,000 businesses in the UK, Ireland and South Africa, and it’s expanding.

Profitnet enables innovation and ideas to flourish. It can help you to:

  • fast-track expertise into your business skills
  • improve your business skills
  • boost your motivation
  • generate ideas for new products and services
  • develop opportunities for collaboration
  • make cost savings.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP)

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a partnership between a company, a university and a graduate. It is a government-funded programme whereby a graduate ‘associate’ works on a project that is strategically important to the company, with the support of senior academics at the university.

By participating in KTPs you can:

  • access qualified people to spearhead new projects
  • access experts who can help take your business forward
  • develop innovative solutions to help your business grow
  • increase your competitive advantage
  • improve your performance/business operations
  • increase profitability.

We can help you identify an associate who has the right expertise for your business.
