Matthew is Principal Lecturer in Marketing at Brighton Business School, the University of Brighton, England. He is also Course Leader for the undergraduate business studies and management programmes. He has an MBA from the University of Bath and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law awarded by The College of Law. His first degree was in Sociology at the University of Liverpool.
Matthew has extensive commercial market research experience and before starting an academic career was an account manager for Taylor Nelson Sofres, working on their consumer panel research operations in London and Sydney. He continues to work as a consultant and recently carried out qualitative research projects for The Argus (regional newspaper), Brighton & Hove City Council and local radio station Juice FM. He has also managed a qualitative research viewing facility and is currently setting up a similar facility within Brighton Business School.
Matthew is a member of the National Social Marketing Centre’s Academic Advisory Group and is on the World Social Marketing Conference 2008 Steering Committee. He has presented social marketing papers at leading conferences and has published work in Social Marketing Quarterly. He regularly runs social marketing training courses and is an Associate of social marketing agency Brilliant Futures.
