Incoming undergraduate exchange students

We are delighted that you are considering the University of Brighton for your exchange experience. On this page you will find information about living here, our courses, key dates and the application process.

Brighton Business School is a friendly and supportive place, where you will meet students from many different countries. We expect you to work hard but you will find lots of interesting things to do in your free time. We look forward to welcoming you to Brighton.

Application procedure for exchange students applying for the 2012/13 academic year

Please note you can only apply if it has been agreed by one of the partner institutions listed above.

b. Exchange Students from Canada and United States of America and Australia

Application deadlines

  • Deadline for first semester (September - February/September - June 2012/2013) is 30 April 2012.
  • Deadline for second semester (February - June 2012/2013) is 15 October 2012.

Procedure

After acceptance of the application form and accommodation form you will receive a contract that you need to sign and return. You will be assigned a personal student number.

Once you have signed and returned the contract you will receive details of how to enrol online. This will happen over the Summer for first semester students and in January for second semester students.

If you have opted for Halls accommodation, you will receive further information through the post from our Accommodation Office. If you require alternative accommodation, our accommodation team will be able to help you. See the accommodation web site for details. Please note that accommodation is not guaranteed for exchange students starting in the second semester.

You will receive information about the International Orientation programme (which is usually held the weekend before the start of term) for first semester students and is incorporated in the first week of term for students arriving at the beginning of the second semester.

You will also be sent a confirmation letter stating that you are an exchange student as well as details of where you need to be on your first day at the Brighton Business School on Monday 24 September 2012 or 4 February 2013.
