Activity, Unpaid Work and Active Ageing

Brighton Business School has hosted a seminar on Activity, Unpaid Work and Active Ageing which was held on February 24th at the Sallis Benney Theatre. This event was part of the ESRC Rethinking Retirement Seminar Series.

The seminar brought together academics, practitioners, older people and policy makers to explore:

  • The relationship between activity and well-being in older age;
  • The consequences of different paid/unpaid and economic/non-economic  activities for older people;
  • The concept of 'Active Ageing', and how this is understood and used.
