Practicalities

Students at Brighton Business School have the option to do a work placement for the third year of their course. The placements are usually 12 months long in a paid position of trainee professional or trainee/junior manager.

We advertise your placement opportunities to our students, although they are responsible for applying for the jobs themselves. You can also take part in our work placement fair, giving your recruitment team the opportunity to speak to students directly. Each year we advertise approximately 1,000 placement opportunities.

Our dedicated placement team ensures high quality service is provided to both placement providers and students.

Benefits of eploying a placement student

The benefits of employing a placement student:

Lower risk and lower cost recruitment

Placements provide a low risk method of recruiting the right employee by offering employers an opportunity to assess potential staff. Students provide excellent value for money and there are no recruitment costs from having to advertise positions.

Gain additional resources

Placements are an alternative way of meeting staffing needs.

Innovative ideas

Employers can benefit from the fresh and innovative ideas that placement students bring. Placements can be a good way to develop a relationship with the university and may enable the employer to benefit from research expertise and have input into course development.
