Placements
The placement year is taken between the second and final years. It allows you to apply your accumulated skills in paid employment and gain valuable hands-on experience. It also helps you to build industry contacts that will be invaluable when you graduate.
We support our students in finding suitable placements. We have a placements office which acts as a link between employers and students, providing information about placements and arranging interviews opportunities.
Placement companies often make job offers to students and the student's work experience is often a key feature in attracting other employers. Companies who regularly recruit our placement students include IBM, Hewlett Packard, Johnson and Johnson, Coty, Marks and Spencer, Channel 4 and Virgin Atlantic.
Research
The school is actively involved in research in business and management and has a number of research groups.

Career opportunities
Business graduates can specialise in a major business function such as marketing, human resource management, finance, operations management or international business. Recent graduates have joined companies such as American Express, Ford, Legal and General, Sainsburys, Lloyds TSB and Wella UK.
