Centre for Interdisciplinary Management and Education Research (CIMER)

This new research centre aims to bring together research groups across the school. CIMER will provide support to its member research groups, stimulate enthusiasm and facilitate the mutual exchange of resources and ideas.

The following research groups are brought together under the new CIMER umbrella:

CIMER will nurture a critical mass of like minded colleagues, act as an incubator to new interests and offer smaller research groups a voice in research policy.

Much of the CIMER-based groups' research derives from problem focused, practice embedded and period relevant work. However, it shares the public dissemination ethos to be found across more traditional approaches to research.

The CIMER philosophy is that dissemination of research to students, both within and beyond the faculty, is an important activity. CIMER members have provided an wide range of research-driven electives; at Brighton we see this as a particularly important contribution to research impact.

'We look forward to taking up the challenge of delivering to students and contributing to the curriculum, as well as influencing policy-makers at local, national and international level.
