The law team at Brighton has excellent links with the local legal community and are supported by a formal advisory and liaison panel which includes a local district judge, the head of Brighton's only barristers chambers, representatives from Sussex Law Society, the Sussex branch of the Institute of Legal Executives, and the local branch of the Crown Prosecution Service, the Chair of Sussex Young Lawyers, and representatives from leading local solicitors firms.
Support from the local practitioner community includes: sponsorship of student prizes; the fielding of speakers at careers events; provision of advocacy training and speakers on topical legal issues; provision of shadowing and judicial internship opportunities; and sponsorship of an annual moot between University of Brighton and Sussex University law students.
