AutoCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) software application for design and drafting. It is the industry standard for PC based CAD and is used widely throughout the country. The AutoCAD training course introduces the AutoCAD package and steadily builds on the practical skills learned.
AutoCAD courses are intended for designers, draughtsmen, engineers (of all disciplines), architects and managers who wish to learn the skills of computer-aided design and wish to know more about the use of CAD in industry.
The course

- Is suitable for anyone who requires an introduction to AutoCAD and is a useful primer before further AutoCAD courses are considered.
On completion of the course you will have an understanding of the basic drawing and editing commands of AutoCAD. You will have practiced these commands and associated techniques and gained skills preparing a series of simple drawings.

You should be familiar with basic use of computers, but no other previous experience is required for this course. A knowledge of drafting terminology and standards is an advantage.
Teaching style: Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace and you will receive individual attention and assistance. Demonstrations of AutoCAD techniques will be given throughout the course.
Course tutors
The course is led by Dr Dal Koshal, a principal lecturer from the University of Brighton’s School of Environment and Technology. He is highly knowledgeable in the field and has extensive practical experience of working with computer-aided design.
