Regional economic growth

We believe that as a university, meeing the needs of local communities and driving sustainable economic growth in the region is key to our purpose. By sharing our knowledge and resources with business and communites in Brighton & Hove, greater Sussex, and the south-east we can help create a thriving economic region.

Working with business and industry

Our resources are available to individual businesses in a number of ways, but we also work with the wider business community and business support and development organisations who share our goal of local and regional economic development. For more information see:

Working with communities and voluntary organisations

Much of our work with communities is outside the economic sphere in areas such as citizenship, equality, diversity and sustainability. Although not classed as economic, these activities contribute to stronger healthier communities and conditions that favour economic growth and resilience.

At the University of Brighton, our focus is on applied research which makes a real difference to people's lives. Where appropriate, much of this research is conducted in collaboration with our neighbouring communities, voluntary and statutory organisations. Our local projects organised and administered through the Community University Partnership Programme.
