Offer work placements or voluntary opportunities
Nearly 95 per cent of our undergraduates undertake work experience as part of their course. Students are employed on placements by organisations of all sizes from SMEs to multinational corporations. Whatever your type of business or company size, our placements scheme could benefit your organisation, providing:
- a flexible way of meeting staffing needs
- a low-risk method of recruiting the right employee
- innovative and fresh ideas
- good value for money: on average, the annual salary expectation is lower than for a graduate recruit.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students from a range of disciplines and degree courses are available for placements of 1 to 12 months. The placement is a fixed-term contract which should be in an area of the business appropriate to the student’s area of study and providing development opportunities and scope for increasing responsibility.
We have extensive experience of working with both local and national companies to make placements successful. The student will have the full support of the university including an academic supervisor, throughout the course of the placement.
