Training and CPD

The University of Brighton delivers training and professional development that's relevant and flexible. Many of our courses can be adapted or developed to suit your business needs.

Flexible employer-focused education

Centre for Work and Learning

By combining courses already available through the university and our educational partners in Sussex, you can offer your staff education that fits your business. You can also add elements of your own existing in-house training.

This offers an efficient way to provide your employees with relevant higher-level education, which fits around the demands of their job and can be delivered at the workplace or online, at convenient intervals. We offer this service through our Centre for Work and Learning.

Flexible graduate certificate in business management

The Graduate Certificate in Management provides bespoke, higher-level education designed to address company-specific requirements. Taught in-house, and with a broad range of modules to choose from, it is ideal for organisations looking to develop leadership and management skills amongst their existing staff.

Quality assurance of in-house courses

We can also work with you to quality assure your own in-house learning programmes through our Recognising Educational Quality (ReQ) scheme. This has two major benefits: it ensures the quality of content and delivery, and gives your employees a formally recognised qualification.

Postgraduate qualifications and CPD modules

To help you to keep up to date with developments in your specialist areas, many of the modules that make up our masters-level courses can be taken as individual professional development modules. Please see the following subject areas for details of courses:

MA/MSc by Learning Objectives

We also offer an MA/MSc by Learning Objectives which provides a masters-level qualification to fit with the demands of your job and lifestyle. The course allows you to draw up a programme of individually tailored study which is structured part-time around your specialist interest and/or your work environment, thus providing a 'work-based masters' course.

A programme of short courses is run through the university's Centre for Collaboration and Partnership. Subjects include innovation, web usability, marketing, business and management skills, environmental management and auditing.
