Services for alumni

The University of Brighton Alumni Association works closely with the Careers Service and exists to help all graduates (alumni) of the university.

Membership is free and offers connections to over 115,000 alumni worldwide. These connections are here to support you and form a closely linked professional network.

Alumni benefits and services

The university provides a range of services to alumni, including:

  • An alumni website with lists of events and reunions and details of alumni professional networking groups to join.
  • Free one-to-one careers counselling no matter when you graduated. We also offer free careers workshops, online webinars, a CV checking service and much more. See the careers service what we offer page and the alumni site for further details.
  • Regular invitations to professional networking events and other varied but relevant university events.
  • Access to a variety of alumni groups on Facebook and LinkedIn. You can also follow us on Twitter.
  • Ongoing support with organising reunions, events and gatherings.
  • A bi-monthly ebulletin packed with university and alumni news and events
  • An annual university magazine; The Brighton Effect - available in hard copy or digital depending on your preference.
  • Joining the Alumni Advice Network gives you a chance to interact with students, staff and fellow alumni through sharing your own university experience, providing careers and other professional advice and giving talks.
  • Alumni are entitled to up to 15 per cent off postgraduate or further study courses at the university, which will enhance your career prospects.

Other university services

Alumni can also continue to use the following university services:

  • Library: At a discounted external rate of £40 per annum
  • Sports centre and swimming pool: At a discounted rate of £165 per annum. That’s just under £14 per month for a gym membership.
  • Beepurple entrepreneurship services, advice and workshops.

Free one-to-one careers advice and CV checking is offered to all our graduates, regardless of when they graduated, by the alumni career development adviser, Robert Prosser.

Telephone advice can also be given and a CV may be sent by email to be reviewed. To make an appointment please call 01273 642855. Evening appointments can be made on Tuesdays in term time.
