We need your feedback

A changing service that aims to meet your needs

During 2012 we've seen a number of exciting developments for the Careers Service;

  • The launch of the Graduate Toolkit to help students reflect on their personal development, identify ways to market their existing skills and find ways to develop those skills and acquire new ones.
  • The ongoing development of our new website, with consultation with students about ways to enhance the usability of our online resources.
  • Beepurple joining the Careers Service; helping our students, staff and alumni to develop their enterprise skills via their free evening workshops and commitment to business skills advice.
  • Our rebranding as the Careers ServiceGuidance, Employment, Volunteering, Enterprise to make our name more reflective of the broad range of services on offer.

Our commitment to change is ongoing, with plans for; additional usability testing of our new website, a Careers Service Roadshow with stalls at all campuses, increased use of social media channels, developing and enhancing our popular events programme and more.

contentbox-quote-orange.gifService Manager Sam Rhodes said: 'The focus of employability within the Careers Service is highlighted by the wide range of services we offer. Part of our role is to help students develop and recognise their transferable skills - something we do through a range of opportunities including, industry specific workshops from employers, volunteering placements, an award-winning mentoring scheme, CV and interview advice and much more.

We hope that our new website will help link students to these opportunities, as well as provide them with a comprehensive resource of information and advice that helps them to plan for a successful future.'
