The Employability Skills Programme is designed to help you develop your career plans and develop and improve your employability skills. If you choose to attend 6 of the 10 workshops, you will receive an award to add to your CV!
All students are welcome to attend. And – it’s free!

Plan successfully for your future
In this workshop, you will gain tools to help you plan well for your future. We will also explore how you can build your skills and competencies and make the most of opportunities in and outside of university to get a head start.

Applying for graduate schemes
Large companies and organisations such as John Lewis, the NHS and IBM recruit graduates via a tailored graduate scheme. Come along to this seminar to find out what being on one of these schemes could involve. Get some tips on how the application process works and what to expect at each stage.

Become confident and employable
This session offers strategies to build self confidence. Develop techniques to motivate, present and promote your self positively in the current job market.

Presentation Skills
Get nervous doing presentations? Want to become more compelling and confident? This workshop will show you how to present a fabulous talk, pitch or presentation, without the use of notes!
This session will provide tools to help you feel more natural in front of an audience, and learn a simple structure for effective presenting.

Effective CV writing
Learn how to make your CV stand out and how to use it effectively in your job search.

Effective interview skills
Learn techniques to help you to prepare effectively for a job interview and to make that preparation count on the big day. This workshop will tackle a wide range of question types, plus common anxieties like 'What if I’m nervous?' and 'What if I don’t know what to say?'
