Advertise your vacancies

The Careers Service can advertise your vacancies for part-time, graduate, placement and temporary jobs via our Vacancy and Events Service. We can offer you:

  • a pool of prospective staff with a wide range of skills and experience, from IT and engineering to languages and marketing;
  • help with your recruitment process, including issuing your own or standard application forms and helping to arrange interviews with students and;
  • free advertising of your vacancies.

Your vacancies will appear on our online vacancy database. After an initial period of online advertising we would be happy to discuss additional promotion if you feel this would be beneficial.

Types of vacancies we advertise

We are happy to advertise the following types of vacancies:

  • part-time jobs (maximum 15 hours a week)
  • paid internships
  • paid short-term work opportunities
  • full-time graduate roles
  • temporary work
  • vacation/seasonal work
  • work abroad
  • graduate schemes
  • undergraduate and graduate short-term and summer placements. (Undergraduate industrial placements will be passed on to the appropriate Placement Office.)
  • volunteering opportunities for charity and not-for-profit organisations only (local opportunities will be passed on to our Active Student team)

All roles to be paid at least National Minimum Wage (NMW), taking into consideration certain exemptions as shown on the HMRC website.

 We do not advertise vacancies that:

  • are commission only
  • are cash only
  • are door to door
  • are self-employed, unless the nature of the roles makes this the only option.  These are promoted at our discretion
  • Involve the employee being recruited directly by the employer to work in their own home

Advertising online

You can use the online Vacancy and Events Service provided by ProspectsNet free of charge to advertise your vacancies. Before you start using it you will need to agree to our code of practice for employers (pdf 150KB).

To submit a vacancy, register with our ProspectsNet service. This enables you to:

  • create and display adverts following a simple step-by-step procedure
  • monitor the success of your online adverts by seeing how many times they have been viewed
  • create additional users, allowing several people to login to ProspectsNet and manage adverts
  • receive the latest labour market news, bulletins and reports
  • keep up to date with the latest developments in graduate recruitment via Prospects' online newsletter, Brighter Prospects.

Once you are registered with ProspectsNet, you can use the same username and password on all Prospects Net websites.  Register to submit a vacancy.

Advertising in a publication

Artyfacts is a monthly publication containing details of vacancies, competitions and news in the  areas of art and design. It is sent out to subscribers and distributed around the university.

If you wish to purchase an advert in Artyfacts (A4 black and white), please contact us to to discuss your requirements. Local SMEs and registered charities may be eligible for a discount.
