Social Sciences Forum

This event offers students studying a social sciences degree the opportunity to listen to and engage with a range professionals who will talk about their occupations and career choices.

The 2011 event

The 2011 event took place in February and was well attended by students from the School of Applied Social Science.

The panel included people from the following professions:

  • Chief Inspector (Sussex Police)
  • Drugs Counsellor (Sussex Partnership)
  • Educational Psychologist (Brighton and Hove City Council)
  • Young Runaways Mentor Co-ordinator (Catch 22: East Sussex Mentoring Service)
  • Counsellor (University of Brighton)
  • Social Worker

Two of the speakers were University of Brighton graduates.

Each of the professionals spoke about their how they qualified and their current role and offered practical advice regarding the graduate job market.
