National Careers Week 2013
A celebration of careers guidance and opportunities across the UK.
National Careers week took place 4th-8th March 2013 with an action packed week of careers activities, designed to help students prepare for a successful career.
The event, hosted by the Careers Service team, held 15 events across all university campuses throughout the week. Activities during the week gave students the chance to find out about opportunities and help them to plan and think ahead about their career options. This included presentations, question & answer sessions and recruitment stands with employers such as fashion retailers Abercrombie and Fitch, and recruiter and business services company, Capita.

Capita hosted a workshop that gave computing students an insight into IT sector careers from an expert in assurance and testing, and an overview of their graduate scheme. Six Brighton students have since applied for Capita’s graduate scheme and the company would like to come back to hold assessment centres for University of Brighton candidates.
Abercrombie & Fitch Co. offered students the opportunity to hear about a day in the life of a retail manager and their graduate training programme, when they visited the Eastbourne campus to speak to Retail Management students.
