What is 'Transform Your Life'?

Join us on a three day employability course to develop positive techniques to present and promote yourself confidently in the current jobs market.

If you have graduated in or are due to graduate in 2012/13 and are seeking to improve your employability skills, then we would like to offer you a place on the ‘Transform Your Life’ (TYL) programme.

The programme is designed to give you the skills, motivation and confidence to get the job you want.

How will it benefit me?

By the end of the programme you will know:

  • How to avoid the 7 sins of graduate unemployment.
  • How to tap into the job market and make your job hunt more successful.
  • How to build rapport and be at your best at interviews.
  • How to fine tune your written and spoken communication skills for use in applications.
  • The essential strategies to develop your personal and professional goals

What do former participants think of 'Transform your Life'?

We have run TYL courses at the university for the past three years.  This is what some of our participants told us...

‘I feel more positive about who I am, what I want to do and who I want to be. I feel more confident in my ability to draw out more strengths and values and transfer these to my application and interview’.

‘Helped me through a transition of concern beforehand into feeling confident and able to perform well at interviews, a springboard into a rewarding satisfying job’.

‘By making me think differently and giving me more confidence. It changed my attitude to “I can” instead of “I don’t know if I can”.

‘I learned that I am OK. I can realise my potential and I am not alone. There are different strategies to achieve your peak performance’.

‘This course has been inspiring in all senses and I came out of it inspired and with a new energy to just go out there and do it.’

‘I learnt techniques to make me feel better about myself, and learnt the importance of valuing myself, rather than being modest.’

‘I felt listened to, nurtured and supported.’

How do I book my place and how much will it cost?

Places are free but numbers are limited so will be offered to those that can commit to the 3 days.

Any cancellations must be notified at least 48 hours before the start of the course or a £20 administration charge maybe incurred.

A course like this run outside the university could cost you £250 to attend. It is being offered by the Careers Service and Student Services free of charge.
