Register as a volunteer
Becoming an Active Student is simple. It involves two steps to inform, guide, and support you in finding the right volunteering opportunity. Active Student is open to all students at the University of Brighton.
If you are an employee of the university, opportunities to volunteer are available through the Staff Volunteering Scheme run by Active Student and CUPP.

Please read through each section of the form carefully. As well as providing information about yourself and your course, look at our current volunteering opportunities so that you can indicate the type of opportunities that interest you.
You will also need to give us an idea of the skills you would like to gain from volunteering. To help you do this, download our Skills Reflection Sheet (pdf 100kb).

Meet with an Active Student worker
After you have submitted your registration form you will be invited to meet your Active Student worker. This is an opportunity to discuss the volunteering you would like to do. We will also go through some information to ensure you are safe and supported in your volunteering, and together we will decide the steps to take to get you started.
This informal meeting should take no more than 30 minutes.
Active Student offers regular and one-off volunteering opportunities. Placements vary in length and time: some last a couple of hours, days or weeks, but others will require a regular commitment over a year.
