Andreas is a Lecturer in the School of Environment and Technology, teaching Construction Materials. His expertise lies in the development of cement-free concrete products, and his research portfolio focusses on new concrete materials (i.e. geopolymer and ultra-high performance fibre reinforced concrete), on the impact resistance of ultra-high performance fibre reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) and on the earthquake strengthening of existing structures.

Prior to joining the University Andreas was working as a Research Associate at the University of Liverpool where he conducted extensive experimental and numerical work to investigate the performance of UHPFRC and geopolymer steel fibre reinforced concrete elements

Simon Walters

Simon is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics, teaching electrical and
electronic engineering. His expertise lies in electrical and electronic engineering, including high voltage and automotive engineering, and his research portfolio focusses on the development and application of electronics, intelligent systems and
signal-processing techniques.

Before becoming an academic Simon worked in industrry as a Chief Test Engineer and has continued to seek out opportunities to collaborate with businesses since joining the University.

diwei.jpgDiwei Zhou

Diwei is a Lecturer in Statistics in the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics. Her expertise lies in statistical image analysis; shape analysis; medical image analysis; matrix-valued data analysis; and applications of statistics in computer science and biomedical science

Diwei has previously been a Marie Curie research fellow in a multi-million EU funded project on "The Collaborative Medical Image Analysis on Grid programme.

Before joining the University of Brighton, Diwei was the Principle Invetigator for a project funded by the Unviersity of Wolverhampton. Diwei has continued to seek out opportunities to collaborate with businesses since joining the University.
