13 June, Huxley Building, University of Brighton
Call for papers and posters
Papers and posters are invited from past and present KTP Associates, and should relate to KTP projects, demonstrating how they impact on the competitiveness and productivity of company partners through the transfer and embedding of knowledge, technology and skills from the UK knowledge base.
All oral and poster papers must be presented by at least one of the authors, who must register for the conference. Papers will be published in the conference digest. Paper presentations should be of 15 minutes duration with an additional five minutes for questions and answers.
For papers, please submit an abstract of about 500 words for review in electronic form by email, in Microsoft Word, postscript or PDF format by noon on Friday 1 March 2013. Final papers must be submitted by noon on Monday 29 April 2013.
For posters, please submit an outline of the poster for review in electronic form by email, in Microsoft Word, postscript or PDF format, by noon on Friday 1 March 2013. Final posters must be submitted by noon on Friday 10 May 2013.
Submission of Papers
Full papers are required by Monday 29 April 2013 and authors of papers must register by 29 April for their papers to appear in the conference digest. You should register online here.
Authors should adhere to the following guidelines when preparing their papers:-
1. Papers must be written and presented in English. The guide length of papers is 4-8 pages.
2. Use two column format, with the exception of tables and figures which may be in one column across the page or in two columns as appropriate.
3. Margins should be 2.54cms on all four sides and 1.0cms between columns.
4. Use Arial, or similar sans serif font, with 10 point text, 14 point bold headings, and 12 point bold sub-headings. All text should be single-spaced, with double spacing between paragraphs.
5. The main title must be in 14 point bold text across two columns at the start of the paper. This should be followed by the names (initials and surname for each author) and affiliations of the authors in 12 point bold text. A contact postal and email address should also be given. Include an abstract of 100-200 words in 10 point italics.
6. References should be numbered using a conventional scheme, or the Harvard method is acceptable.
7. Where possible, enclose diagrams and figure at appropriate points in the main text, rather than appending them at the end of the paper.
8. Please ensure you include full names and details of all the authors.
9. Papers to be sent electronically to KTPConference@brighton.ac.uk.
10. Paper presentations will be given a 20-minute slot in the programme – 15 minutes for the presentation and five minutes at the end for questions.
11. Papers cannot be included in the conference digest unless the final manuscript and the registration form are received by 29 April 2013.
12. All paper presenters should also supply a few lines about themselves, in order to give our session chairs some information so they can introduce you to the audience to you prior to your presentation. Please include this in the covering email when you submit your final paper.
13. Please also submit, with your final paper, a brief summary of your paper, which we can use on our website to help delegates plan which presentations they would like to attend.
