The university has been awarded a two year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with London based company, Crimson Tangerine Ltd, also known as Crimtan, a technology-rich digital advertising services provider.
The KTP will develop innovative data mining and modelling techniques to enhance customer profiling rules enabling the company to optimise web advertisement performance.
The project, which has a total value of £125,372, will be led by Professor Miltos Petridis and supervised by Dr Roger Evans, both from the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics.
Involvement in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) provides academics with an opportunity to participate in a rewarding collaborative project with an innovative business that requires access to skills and expertise. In return, academics apply and extend their knowledge in a business environment providing opportunities to enhance research, teaching and academic outputs.
Professor Miltos Petridis said: "This KTP project is a very exciting collaboration to be a part of. Having been involved with KTPs before joining the University of Brighton, I know that KTP is a great vehicle for working with companies and feeding that experience back into teaching and research. I have also witnessed the catalytic-transformational effect a KTP project can have to the collaborating company, its growth, business portfolio and confidence. We are looking forward to the opportunity to apply our expertise in data mining and modelling in a highly sophisticated, large-scale, real-time web delivery environment. We look forward to working with Crimtan on this project and supporting their growth in a fast-changing environment.”
If you are interested in engaging with industry via KTP please contact the KTP Manager,Dr Shona Campbell or for further information and examples of current programmes see www.brighton.ac.uk/ktp.
