Relationships through research and consultancy
- The Natural Language Technology Group (NLTG)
- is working with the PATSy project to improve user support and interface design of the PATSy system.
- is working with Lexical Computing on the design, implementation and acquisition of lexical resources for commercial use.
- has worked with Magpie in the application of sentiment and emotional text analysis to Magpie's alerting services.
- has worked with Solcara to deliver advanced language technology in information management systems.
- has a historical relationship with SPSS in the development and deployment of text mining technology, including consultancy work and workshop sponsorship.
- The Computational Maths Group is working with B&W Loudspeakers on the modelling of the transient sound field radiated by a loud-speaker cone.
- The Visual Modelling group have been collaborating with Nokia Research on the use of Euler diagram based notations for modelling ontologies.
Relationships through funding
- The South East England Development Agency has supplied funds to develop facilities such as the Broadcast Media studio in UCH and the Usability Evaluation Studio in Watts.
- Our research activity is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, the Economic and Social Research Council and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
- Disney has donated some funds to support our BSc Computer Science (Games)
