Location

Brighton is on the south coast of England, 60 miles from London. We are connected to London Gatwick International Airport by a direct 30 min rail link and 40 minute road links. There are also good links to London Heathrow. Brighton has a good local road and rail infrastructure. Fast trains to London connect with Eurostar service to mainland Europe and for seafarers, the ferry terminal at Newhaven is a 30 minute drive away.

Brighton has a long history as a tourist centre and has all the attractions and facilities that go with that. It has a very lively youth culture, seen in its many pubs, cafes and clubs. Brighton is famous for the historic piers and lively sea front where delegates can hire bikes, roller blades and so on. "The Lanes" area in the town centre is famous for its picturesque antique shops, while the nearby North Laine is a favourite destination of weekenders visiting its speciality designer and retro clothes shops and market type atmosphere. Brighton has a thriving music culture and an internationally recognised club scene, DJs and performers.

The conference will take place in the Royal Albion Hotel, situated on Brighton's lively sea front.

Brighton is the centre for a flourishing new media industry and the home of the first MSc in interactiveTV, at the University of Brighton.
