The university has been awarded a two-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) withwith Dando Drilling International Ltd - the UK's only manufacturer of mobile drilling rigs, who are based in Littlehampton.
The KTP aims to develop and implement an innovative product design process, fully integrated with the supply chain, to deliver competitive, modular mobile drilling rigs for new and established markets.
The project -which is worth £119,372 - will be led by Dr Derek Covill from the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics, and is supported by Dr Mark Jones from the Centre for Collaboration and Partnership and Dr Kaiming She from the School of Environment and Technology.
