On the 5th June the students from the Automotive Electronic Engineering MSc visited the Rolls Royce centre near Goodwood where they toured the factory. As well as the assembly lines and high technology testing facilities we were very pleased to see the electronics testing facilities which showed all of the Rolls Royce car electronics on a specialist chassis for easy access.
This gave a fantastic overview of the complexity of today's vehicle electronics highlighting over 100 electronic control units and many communication links and well as very important practical details like interconects
