Sport and Exercise Science students introduce good practice in young athletes

Bookmark and Share

Three Sport and Exercise Science students are currently working with a cohort of 8 young swimmers on a 6-month land training program aimed primarily at introducing good practice in young athletes. The initiative is really well received by both parents and children at the local Eastbourne Swimming Club, who appreciate the commitment and professionalism of the students. The three students are gaining an invaluable experience by working within the community, with one student now considering a professional career in strength & conditioning. With a fourth student helping the lead swimming coach to enhance the competitive starts of some of the squads’ swimmers using video analysis and applied biomechanics, there is no doubt that the Sport and Exercise Science Area of the University of Brighton is offering significant support to the local community.
