OverTime
Overtime is the Sport Journalism BA (Hons) course website produced by the students for the students. Our budding journalists have the opportunity to write previews, reports and opinion pieces on a wide range of sports from football to Formula One and they also get the chance to be involved behind the scenes in sub-editing, choosing pictures, writing headlines and uploading material. Students are also encouraged to produce video and audio for the site as multimedia skills are essential in today's media landscape.
Students can hone in on particular sports of interest as Overtime contains in-depth coverage of major events such as the Cricket World Cup and the inaugural Women's Football Super League, which sees our team of journalists reporting live from the games. There will also be a Rugby World Cup special later this year and plans are already underway for the 2012 London Olympics. But it's not all about sport - students can also write about other aspects of journalism such as film and music reviews and local news.
The work our students produce acts as an excellent showcase for potential employers but we also believe that practice makes perfect - the more writing our students do, the better they get. But it is also important that they enjoy their writing and find it rewarding at a personal level. Overtime provides them with the perfect platform to achieve this.
There really is something for everyone on Overtime. Visit the site now to see the vibrant journalism our students are producing at www.overtimeonline.co.uk
