Learning and Teaching Forum
The Learning and Teaching Forum provides a regular opportunity for interested persons to come together to discuss university wide learning and teaching issues. It is normally scheduled about two weeks before the Learning and Teaching Committee, so that comments and ideas from the forum can be taken forward to the committee to inform policy decisions.

The main subject for discussion this time will be:
· What students say they appreciate about teaching excellence - we will explore findings from the teaching excellence awards conducted by the Students Union colleagues and the Excellence in Facilitating and Empowering Learning (EFEL) awards managed by the CLT, alongside free text comments from the students in the NSS and looks at how students express what really matters in good teaching, good support and facilitation of their learning.
· Linking research and teaching - How are teaching and research connected? How can we underpin our teaching with our research and that of others? How can we encourage our students to be enquiring learners, to engage with and generate research and enquiry based learning in their own study?
We will also consider other topical issues in teaching and learning which you bring with you.
