The University of Brighton Compact is a partnership between the university, schools and colleges and students.

As a student at school or college in Sussex you can benefit from the services we deliver through the Compact no matter which university you plan on attending.

You can access
  • Impartial information, advice and guidance to help you make a strong application to higher education.
  • Talks and workshops with step by step advice on how to choose the right course; make a strong university application and write a personal statement that does you justice.
  • Advice on the student funding and finance system.
  • Advice for parents and carers addressing their questions.
Enhanced suport
  • To support students from the widest possible range of backgrounds in making the transition to university we have developed an enhanced package of support delivered through the Compact called the Plus Programme.
  • Students who are eligible for the Plus Programme also get priority access to lectures and workshops, summer schools, student shadowing, one-to-one help writing personal statements and preparing for interviews.

We deliver Compact services through talks, events and workshops provided at schools and colleges and at the university, and also through the resources we provide on our website.

Additional benefits if you apply to the University of Brighton
  • Through the Compact students who meet our entry requirements can benefit from guaranteed standard offers or interviews for some University of Brighton courses.
  • Student members of the Plus Programme who go on to study with us may also be eligible for a Compact bursary and get opportunities to work part-time for the university.
