The MBA is the most widely recognised management qualification in the world. It enables practising and potential managers and business professionals worldwide to develop themselves and their organisations.
Brighton Business School offers two full-time and two part-time MBA degrees.
Full-time: 1 year
Course structure
The degree programme comprises an induction followed by three phases of study. Phase 1 provides a sound understanding of business and management, as well as developing analytical and critical capability. Phase 2 introduces the disciplines which underpin strategic thinking in organisations, and develops participants' skills as organisational analysts and consultants. Phase 3 focuses on developing strategic capability.
Phase 3 includes an elective study allowing participants to explore a topic of particular interest. Recent examples have included employment law, consultancy, e-business, supply chain management, international marketing and entrepreneurship.
Study is supported by participation in an action-learning set. The university has an international reputation as a centre for excellence in action learning.

In order to benefit from, contribute to and enjoy the course, a good command of spoken and written English language is required. If English is not your first language, you will need English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5, with 6 in the written test.
International students whose language skills do not match the IELTS scores set out above should consider applying for this course through the Extended Masters programme at the University of Brighton's Language Institute.
Degree and/or experience:
At least three years management or professional experience, plus a degree or equivalent professional qualification. Managers with at least five years management experience do not need a degree or equivalent qualification.

MBA graduates are eligible to transfer to one of the university's PhD or DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) research degrees.

The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2012-13. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study.
The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full- or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. Different rules apply to research degrees - please contact the Doctoral College for advice.
