The Professional Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy provides education and training in research for professionals and is designed to offer a programme of research-based professional development for experienced practitioners. Degree and/or experience:
The professional doctorate is a programme for experienced counselling and psychotherapy professionals. Candidates will normally be expected to hold a relevant qualification at Masters level. In additional they will be accredited and/or registered by (or eligible for this) a recognised professional body in the UK and expected to have at least three years of appropriate post-qualifying experience.

This programme aims to equip counsellors and psychotherapists to use research methods to interpret theory and research, critique current methods and interventions, and transplant these findings into a form that can direct present and future counselling and psychotherapy practice.
The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2012-13. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study.
The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full- or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take.
