About the course
Are you interested in computing systems that support businesses and ready for a challenging course incorporating masters-level work in the final year?
This Business Computer Systems MComp includes a year of masters-level study to give additional breadth and depth to your studies and provide you with a head start in the job market.
You will graduate able to identify and apply methods, technologies and architecture in business environments.

A-levels:
AAB and good ability in mathematics, typically demonstrated by an AS-level in mathematics.
BTEC
DDD.
International Baccalaureate:
36 points.
Access to HE Diploma
pass (at least 45 credits at level 3), with 30 credits at distinction. Level 3 units in maths and computing required.
GCSE (minimum grade C) or Access Equivalent
at least three subjects including English language and mathematics or a science.
For non-native speakers of English:
IELTS 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.

Course structure
The course incorporates an optional paid placement year, an individual project in an area of your choice, and masters-level modules in the final year.
During your placement year you will put your specialist skills and knowledge into practice and gain vital experience.
In the final year you will explore masters-level modules, working alongside postgraduate students.
Our research-informed teaching will support you to become an independent learner, with the ability to develop and apply your knowledge in your dissertation and future career.
Areas of study
Our students don't need specific computing knowledge before starting the course. The first semester is an introduction to a broad range of topics (including programming, databases and web design) then you?ll make a choice about the area you'd like to specialise in.
Masters-level modules include Research Methods, Internet Application Development, The Business and the Information System and an option from?
To enable you to maximise the potential of your career outside of the UK, you can also choose modern language modules.

The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2013-14. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and may be subject to small increases, in line with inflation.
The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full- or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take.
What's included in the fee?
When costs such as health or criminal record checks, field trips or use of specialist materials are incurred as a mandatory requirement of the course they are included in your tuition fee.
You may incur additional costs depending on the optional modules or activities you choose. The cost of optional activities is not included in your tuition fee and you will need to meet this cost in addition to your fees. If you choose to take the professional placement (sandwich) year offered on this course you will pay a reduced fee during this year. Our fee for the professional placement year is currently £750 for Home and Island Students and £1,760 for International students. This fee may be subject to small increases, in line with inflation.

You can also make the most of the location, and play volleyball, basketball and windsurfing down by the beach. The seafront is also the finishing point for the famous London – Brighton bicycle ride and the quirky veteran car run.
