About the course
This innovative course in the developing field of public sector commissioning is intended for clinicians, practitioners and managers with a role or interest in leadership or commissioning. Participants may be drawn from a range of health and care organisations including the independent and third sectors.
Participants will be exposed to a range of theoretical models, approaches and learning methods to develop and apply their academic understanding, and supported via the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, and University of Brighton.

For non-native speakers of English:
IELTS 7.0 overall, 7.0 in writing.
Degree and/or experience:
The course is open to service leaders, commissioners and managers with a role or interest in leadership or commissioning from the healthcare, local authority, independent and third sectors.
Applicants will either have a first degree, or will be able to show a proven track record in leadership or commissioning. Applicants are expected to have the support of their sponsoring employer or organisation.
If you do not fulfil the above criteria you may still apply after discussion with the course leader. You may also apply for individual modules as part of continuing education without undertaking a degree pathway.
Course structure
MSc students are required to pass 180 credits at masters level. Exit awards at certificate (60 credits) and diploma level (120 credits) are also available.

The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2013-14. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and may be subject to small increases, in line with inflation.
The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full- or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take.
What's included in the fee?
When costs such as health or criminal record checks, field trips or use of specialist materials are incurred as a mandatory requirement of the course they are included in your tuition fee.
You may incur additional costs depending on the optional modules or activities you choose. The cost of optional activities is not included in your tuition fee and you will need to meet this cost in addition to your fees.
