About the course
Typical entry requirements
The entry requirements listed here are for students starting their course in 2014. Entry requirements for students thinking about starting a course in 2013 can be found in the online prospectus. Individual offers may vary
The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2012-13. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study.
The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full- or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. Different rules apply to research degrees - please contact the Doctoral College for advice.
To help you plan for your time here we will be providing further information about what is included in your tuition fee, and any optional costs you may need to budget for, later in the autumn.
Our website www.brighton.ac.uk/money provides advice about funding and scholarships as well as further information about fees and advice on international and island fee paying status.
Bursaries are available for eligible trainees on all of our PGCE courses. Bursary amounts will vary depending on the subject route and your degree classification. Find out more...
Route leader: Information Communication Technology (Secondary)
Having trained as one of the country’s first cohort of ICT teachers, I taught in a range of secondary schools, mainly across the south of England.
Starting as an NQT, I rose to become a member of senior management before joining the School of Education in 2008.
Most of my teaching has been carried out in schools located in areas of social deprivation, and this has been the genesis of my main research interest.
Outstanding education
Our primary and secondary initial teacher education provision is rated outstanding by Ofsted. They highlighted our inspirational teaching, skilful mentoring, excellent resources and dynamic leadership as areas of strength.
